It sounds like the batteries just need a boost, please switch of the lights for 3-5 days to allow the batteries to gain a full charge, Once these are then turned back on, they should run a little longer for you. Please note that in the winter months you will get slightly shorter running times as there is shorter daylight hours and more shade.

I intend fitting Globe solar lights in a shady corner of my garden. The 3m cable limit between the lights and solar panel means that the solar panel will always be in shade. If I could extend the cable by 3m then It would be possible to fit the solar panel on top of a hedge where it would receive much more light. Is it possible to do this using heavy conductor, low resistance cable and joining it with waterproof connectors?

We would not recommend modifying the unit at all as this invalidates the warranty. Sorry.

I am afraid that with this set there will be one panel and 2 lights with cable in between. You may want to look at the integrated panel products we have in the 'Spotlight' section if you do not want cables.

Sadly the batteries cannot be replaced. The yare a long life lithium ion battery. We cannot give a life expectancy as it totally depends on a number of factors.

Can you provide lights at a warmer (lower) temperature below 3,000 kelvin? Higher temperatures interfere with insects and other wildlife in gardens so I would prefer not to use them. (And I avoid polluting the sky by pointing them upwards anyway).

The batteries are in the solar panel which has a number of screws keeping it sealed. Once you have unscrewed the panel it will give access to the batteries. Generally just switching the light off for 1-3days will boost the charge.

Light head: 8.5cm diameter 10.2cm deep  Light and base size: 16.5cm high (including base)  34.8cm high in total when the spike is attached to the base although only the light head and base would be above ground. The solar panel: 23cm wide by 19cm high.  The solar panel is 14cm long with wall mount base attached so would protrude out from a wall 14cm once installed. With the spike attached the solar panel is 34cm high in total although only 16cm of this 34cm would be above ground.

Firstly you need a remote panel as under a tree the panel is unlikely to get enough light to charge. Putting the light further away from a tree could solve the sun to panel issue but will reduce the illumination,   For something as large as a 30ft tree you might want to consider our flood light . It depends on how much you'd like to illuminate.
