Seven Working Modes
Sensor mode: Automatically turns on to 25% brightness when dark and light to full brightness when motion is detected. Back to 25% brightness when the motion stops.
Semi-sensor mode: Automatically turn on to full brightness when dark, then switch to sensor mode as above after 4 hours.
100% lighting mode: Automatically turn on to full brightness and turn off at dawn or when energy depleted.
50% lighting mode: Automatically turn on at half power when dark and turn off at dawn or when energy depleted.
3-hour light mode: On full brightness when dark for 3hrs
5-hour light mode: On full brightness when dark for 5hrs
8-hour light mode: On full brightness when dark for 8hrs

I am unsure I understand the last part of your question, but this can just be turned on and off by the remote control if you wish.
Sadly this cannot be extended.
Hi Josh. There is 3 metres of cable between the solar panel and the light.

Took a while looking for a good quality solar light that can stand up to the British weather this one looks up to the job the casing for the lamp is made of decent strong material solar panel its self is okay the brackets for the panel and the light seem to be the only issue I have they do seem I bit weak time will tell thats why I gave it 4.5 stars in stead of 5 but have purchased solar lights from this store before and they have stood up to the elements do far let's hope this does the same.

I spent a while looking for a lamp as I wanted to light a sign rather than an area. I thought the 25% option on this light would be about right. I also needed the solar panel to be quite a way from the lamp itself. I asked if I could extend the cable and received a quick reply, which was No! From their perspective it would invalidate the warranty. But undeterred I bought the lamp anyway. Mounted it and spliced an extra 2 metres of wire between the connectors. Works perfectly and we are very pleased.

I bought the scout pro security light in the sale last October to use in a new seating area. The new area was only completed this spring and so I unpacked the solar light with great expectations. I wanted the light to be on low and then to light up to full as the pir worked when people sat down. Sadly the light didn't work as the sensor was damaged but after sending off a couple of photos the light was replaced and now works a treat. Thank you Solar Center. I have now purchased 7 solar lights from SC and find the team very helpful and always polite
