Haven't paid as much for a light like this and have gone through one or two. It's a manorial light for my lovely late wife and is for her rose bush. Basically wether there is charge init on arrival or has to be charged via usb, I experienced nothing working didn't know if it was charging or not. Found the answer in a form of reply in the reviews. When you switch on the lamp press and hold the button down for several seconds and all is well. Very pleased with the product, well made and looks good. Worth the money. Hope this helps.

I bought two of these lights, 8 years ago. They did not have a USB then, just an inbuilt solar battery on top. One of them stopped working 6 years ago, the other one is still working fairly well. I have just ordered two new lights with the USB stick, as my remaining light is looking its age. I would highly recommend these lights.

Lovely effective torch light. I like the fact that you can charge via USB if needed. I did have an issue with 1 light shortly after delivery as it stopped working and would not charge but it was replaced quickly with no charge.

Bought 4 Trueflame solar lights in the summer have been very pleased with how they look and how long they last on one charge. However I did have a problem with one light after 4 months, I contacted solar centre and they replaced it quickly and with no fuss
