Hi - where is the solar panel positioned? Presumably on the top but I cannot see where it confirms this - or is it a separate - if so I cannot see a lead??

Yes, the panel is located on top of the light with no wire or lead.

WOULD THIS WORK IN A LIGHT CONSERVATORY?

I would not recommend this in a conservatory as it will not charge behind glass due to UV protection. This will need to be placed outside and used as an outdoor light.
