The spike is 10.5cm when installed. You could push it further in but this would put some of the post below ground level.
The light should give reasonable winter performance in a good, unobstructed, south facing location. We would not recommend it as a winter working light.
The LED Solar Light will last for up to 8 - 10 hours during the summer.

Very happy with these lights - give a lovely ambient glow to the garden. The service from the company is first rate and being able to track delivery down to almost the moment the goods arrived is excellent.
