No, these will not work if too close to a street light, as the panel will think it is daytime.
Hi Helen, you only turn them on once and they will automatically turn on and off at dusk till dawn
Yes, you can switch them off as you like.

I initially bought a set of these last year. Been dissatisfied with other lights in the past so waited a while before investing in another set. The first set have been brilliant. After a year I've bought my new set, they look great in our Apple tree. Thank you SolarCentre I'm now a happy there is a provider that meets my expectations of quality.

Very pleased, really easy to setup, nice bright lights, on/off switch useful at times, work well even in dull weather and provides a nice effect around a flower bed that is dormant during the winter months.
