The Shard is a completely new outdoor lighting concept designed and engineered by SolarCentre. Inspired by the idea of creating a vertical beam of warm light, the Shard is an impressive statement piece designed for style-conscious contemporary settings.
The Shard uses the same tried-and-tested 3W solar panel that we use on our popular Atlas 2 Solar Spotlights. The solar panel includes fixings for staking the panel into lawns or flower beds and for mounting onto walls or decking.
Two power settings let you choose between having a brighter light or longer run times. Powersaving mode reduces the power outputted to the Shard by half which doubles the amount of time the Shard will run for each night.
The Shard Light is rated at IP55 and can withstand pretty much anything the British weather can throw at it.
The Shard uses the latest LiFePO4 batteries which typically offer 4 times as many charging cycles as standard lithium batteries.
The Shard is made from an extremely tough high-sheen acrylic plastic which not only looks stunning but will offer years of hassle-free use.

Hi, The Shard is a reinforced plastic unit.
Hi Rico, Thank you for your message, we have lights that would have the battery in the Solar panel and some in the light itself. With our Shard you can do exactly that. As the battery is inside the panel you can place it in a different position let it charge in the sun and connect it back to the light when fully charged.

Not even in a south facing position and still lights up sufficiently on the lower setting. If I put it to the off position at night after the cars have all parked up for the night, will it still charge the battery in the off position?

Bought to mark the driveway corner when reversing my car in at night / in poor weather, and so far it has lit the area brilliantly, just on eco setting! Could do with the light lasting longer, but it is winter and we're just not getting enough sunshine to charge it up for several hours illumination. Fortunately the post is still quite visible even unlit, so it certainly serves its purpose.

All fitted weekend just gone and in my opinion its the best light i have purchased Solar. Its the brightness it does not disappoint you. Now i have just purchased another two for the front of the house. The cord is long for good portioning, perfect.

My Shard solar light arrived this afternoon and I set it up outside about 5pm in really wet, miserable weather and did not expect it to light up tonight however it certainly did light up and looks amazing.

Really pleased with our new light. Hoping it still provides some benefit in the winter months. The only problem was getting it vertical as a slight misalignment of the ground stake is magnified by the height of the lamp.
